Clarity before cameras.

We believe a film is only as strong as the intention behind it.

Before talking gear, lighting, or logistics, we spend time listening — understanding the why, the audience, and what this story actually needs to accomplish. That clarity shapes every decision that follows.

A lot of the work happens before a camera ever comes out: asking better questions, slowing things down when needed, and deciding what doesn’t need to be said. By the time we’re filming, the path is already clear.

The result is work that feels honest and unforced — not just something that looks good, but work that actually means something.

We’ve brought this approach to brand films for manufacturers, healthcare practices, school districts, casinos, and real estate agents — as well as hundreds of weddings and quinceañeras across the Chicago area.

Where emotion meets intention.

  • I’m the filmmaker behind MindFlix Films, but more importantly, I’m someone who pays attention.

My work is rooted in listening first — understanding people, environments, and intention before deciding how a story should be told. I’m less interested in staging moments and more interested in recognizing the ones that already exist.

With a background spanning video production, design, and visual storytelling, I approach each project with restraint and care. Not everything needs to be said, and not everything needs to be filmed. The goal is clarity — creating work that feels honest, grounded, and true to the people behind it.

As a first-generation Latino filmmaker rooted in the Chicago area, I bring a cultural perspective to every project — an understanding of community, family, and what it means to tell a story that honors where you come from.

Outside of filming, I’m usually exploring with my family, spending time outdoors, or letting quiet moments shape the next story waiting to be told.

  • Maira brings a calm, attentive presence to every space she enters. Her work is grounded in connection — noticing people as they are and creating room for them to feel comfortable being seen.

As a photographer, she’s less interested in forcing moments and more focused on allowing them to unfold naturally. That ease shows up quickly. Clients often remark how comfortable they feel within minutes, and that trust carries through every frame.

Beyond the camera, Maira is a natural relationship-builder. She values collaboration, communication, and the quieter details that make stories feel personal rather than posed.

When she’s not photographing, she pours that same care and intention into her role as a mother — a part of her life that continually shapes how she sees connection, family, and meaning.

What Shapes Our Work

  • Unified Vision
We approach every project with the same mindset — clarity first, intention always. Our background in filmmaking, photography, and design allows us to tell stories that feel cohesive rather than fragmented.

  • Warm, Grounded Collaboration
We work best in partnership. That means listening closely, staying present, and creating an environment where people feel comfortable being themselves on camera.

  • Cultural Awareness
Rooted in Latino heritage and raised in the Chicago area, we're deeply mindful of tradition, family, and cultural context — and we carry that understanding into every story we tell. Our team is fully bilingual, and that matters.

  • Client-Focused by Design
Whether it’s a brand film for a healthcare founder or a quinceañera for a family in Waukegan, our focus stays on what the work needs to accomplish — not just how it looks. That’s why we start every project with a discovery call before we ever talk pricing.
